Elder Health - Common Risks and Diagnoses

Men TalkingThe health of an elder you are caring for is, naturally, one of your most important concerns. If your elder is coping with a health problem, or if you suspect s/he may be at risk, the information in this section of Seniorlink Online is for you. This section is divided into two main parts - Risks and Diagnoses. We recommend that you scan each section for areas of concern with your elder. You as you read a section, you may find that other problems come to light.

Elder Health Risks

In this section, you can explore a variety of eldercare health risks - covering topics that tend to complicate or make worse an existing elder health problem, or that may jeapordize the elder's safety and well-being. Such topics include delirium, mood problems like depression and anxiety, dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, nutrition problems and social isolation.

Elder Health Diagnoses

In the eldercare health diagnoses section, we provide you with an overview of the most common physical problems associated with aging. The goal is to provide caregivers with information to assist in implementing a strategy for managing the situation and, ideally, maintaining an elder’s independence for as long as possible.
